Why are we affected by GLBA?

Section 501 of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requires Financial Institutions to establish standards relating to administrative, technical and physical information safeguards to protect customer records and information that are considered to be Non-Public Private Information.

Credit Unions, Banks and Investment Firms are Financial Institutions. Bridgestone Print provides services to Credit Unions, Banks and Investment Firms therefore, we are required to follow GLBA guidelines to ensure customer data is protected.

Why are we affected by HIPAA?

The Privacy Rule took effect on April 14, 2003. It establishes regulations for the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI). PHI is any information about health status, provision of health care, or payment for health care that can be linked to an individual. This is interpreted rather broadly and includes any part of a patient's medical record or payment history.

Bridgestone Print provides services to Medical Billing firms and Health Insurance Providers therefore, we are required to follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure customer data is protected

Bridgestone Print recognizes the need keep all data and printed materials secure from time of receipt to delivery of the finished product. All print and lettershop staff members are required to undergo annual privacy awareness training as directed by our corporate compliance officer.
